Description: This well-known fan palm is native to the Solomon Islands but is cultivated throughout the tropics. The beautiful undivided circular leaves are held upon a slender trunk which can reach up to 3 meters in old specimens. Cultivation recommendations: A tropical lowland plant requiring high humidity and a minimum temperature of 20 C for good growth. Prefers rich but well-drained soil that is slightly acidic.
