Licuala mattanensis (10 seeds)
Description: A attractive dwarf fan palm native to shady hill forests of western Borneo. This is the typical form with shiny dark green leaves, but some varieties can be spectacularly variegated (see Licuala 'mapu'). The slender trunk can reach several meters in height.
Cultivation recommendations: A tropical lowland plant requiring high humidity, shelter from wind and a minimum temperature of 20 C for good growth. Prefers rich but well-drained soil.
